Georgia football is the No. 1 topic every day on DawgNation Daily — the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans. Catch up on everything happening with UGA athletics with host Brandon Adams and the cast of DawgNation experts as they break down the latest Georgia football recruiting news and discuss UGA coach Kirby Smart’s quest to keep the Bulldogs on top of the SEC. On episode No. 655 (March 5, 2018) of the podcast, Georgia fans can hear a discussion about the big reason why UGA’s becoming even more impressive to recruits.

Georgia football podcast: Big reason UGA’s becoming even more impressive to recruits

Beginning of the show: Former Georgia linebacker Lorenzo Carter turned in an impressive time in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine. Carter’s showing — along with those of his former teammates — has gotten the attention of a few future Bulldogs players, who apparently now view UGA as a great starting point to eventually land a professional career. I’ll explain more about why that is on the show.

10-minute mark: ESPN’s Heather Dinich called UGA’s nonconference schedule “atrocious” during an appearance Friday on the Paul Finebaum Show. I’ll explain why it’s unfair to criticize UGA’s schedule even if most of the nonconference games leave something to be desired.

15-minute mark: DawgNation’s Chip Towers joins the show. Some of the topics covered include:

  • Lorenzo Carter with an impressive showing at the NFL combine
  • Former UGA players address National Championship Game
  • Will UGA’s football schedule hurt Georgia’s chance of a return to the College Football Playoff?
  • What to expect from Natrez Patrick?
  • Should Deangelo Gibbs stay at defensive back?
  • Did loss at Tennessee seal Mark Fox’s fate?

30-minute mark: I look at some other SEC headlines, including Nick Saban addressing the Crimson Tide’s quarterback competition, Calvin Ridley saying there was tension among Alabama’s wide receivers, Tennessee paying departed athletic director John Currie $75,000 a month, and Florida wide receiver Antonio Callaway blaming himself for former coach Jim McElwain’s firing.

End of show: I update the Gator Hater Countdown and remind DawgNation Daily listeners and viewers about the brand new DawgNation Daily Double posted at the DawgNation Forum.
