Before attending Dawg Night, Malik Herring, the nation’s No. 4 defensive end in the class of 2017, wondered if UGA really wanted him.

The 4-star prospect from Mary Persons High School doesn’t feel that way anymore. Herring knows UGA coaches want him to become a Bulldog.

“They stand a pretty good chance right now,” Herring told the AJC. “When I went up there, the coaches were just hugging me, having a great talk — laughing and giggling. As we talked, I felt like the relationship was getting closer and closer.”

That growing relationship seems to have paid off for UGA. Herring will visit the school for the Alabama game in October and may possibly go back before then.

In the video above, Herring talks more about UGA, and he also lists other schools that he plans on visiting in the near future.
