Xavier Truss would fill a recruiting need for UGA in 2019. The Bulldogs need to sign at least two elite tackles for this cycle.

Truss can also fill airline seats, doorways, a likely 58-extra long suit jacket and serve as a walking visual aid for a solar eclipse.

The 6-foot-8, 350-pound prospect already knows he will take an official visit to UGA this fall.

The 4-star tackle ranks as the nation’s No. 12 OT recruit on the 247Sports composite rankings for 2019. That also places the Rhode Island resident as the nation’s No. 98 overall recruit.

Ohio State and Michigan are also expected to get their first unofficial visits from Truss this month. He will also attend the spring game at Penn State. That will be his third trip to Happy Valley.

Truss was asked at the New Jersey Opening regional if he knew any schools he “for sure” knew that he would take an official visit to.

“I think three,” Truss said. “I definitely want to go see Georgia, Auburn and Clemson again. But I’m going to still leave two up for grabs in case I am really blown away by Michigan or Ohio State or anybody else along the way that I decide to take an unofficial to.”

Truss said to look for him to sign during the early period in December. He will not be able to enroll early.

He takes a lot of pride in his footwork. That’s what he has heard from college coaches.

“College coaches when they review my film and get back to me,” he said. “They give me feedback (about his footwork.) Even my high school coaches and it sounds silly but even my youth coaches have said that I have good footwork and good explosion. That’s really what I am all about.”
