Mecole Hardman, Jr. never fails to disappoint.

The nation’s No. 1 athlete will likely be the most electric player in his signing class. That would be the case whether he decides to sign with UGA, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State or Tennessee. The 5-star prospect has always shown a flair for the dramatic.

He’s also got a plan in place for his signing day ceremony that won’t feel recycled or played out. Hardman is out in Texas this week for the International Bowl and he shared his plan for his announcement for Feb. 3.

The Elbert County All-American is not doing hats. He’s doing cakes. Small cakes.

The plan is still fluid, but look for him to have the logos of the schools he is considering. Hardman broke down his plan with Jason Howell of Rivals.com.

Hardman said it might be six or seven cakes. He recently named an updated Top 7 after a recent visit to Ohio State.

“I think I am going to throw a school out on signing day,” Hardman, Jr said. “Like on that day I am going to throw a school out so I can have probably a set six. I don’t know what that school is going to be. I will probably make that decision soon. It will be proabably be hats or cakes. I don’t know what. However my momma wants to do it, we will do it like that.”

He doesn’t know yet if he will slice up or eat the cake of his eventual college choice. But look for each of those small cakes to carry the logo of each of those six finalists. Unless otherwise indicated, player rankings and ratings are from the 247Sports Composite.
