UGA offensive line coach Sam Pittman continues to excel on the recruiting trail.  Add Pace Academy standouts Andrew Thomas and Jamaree Salyer to the robust list of prospects who have told DawgNation they will be at Sanford Stadium on Saturday for G-Day.

The new line coach has the sort of personality he hopes to match with the oversized grown men he sends out on the field. He once told 2018 commit Max Wray to call him “Brad Pittman” on a visit and went by that moniker the rest of the day. His humorous methods of reaching players, plus his ability to send SEC linemen to the NFL, have drawn the interest of two of the top offensive lineman in Georgia.

Salyer was named the top offensive lineman at the Nike Atlanta regional on March 30, 2016 at Buford High School. (Jeff Sentell / AJC)/Dawgnation)

Thomas, a rising senior, is rated as the top offensive lineman in the state for 2017 and the nation’s No. 71 overall prospect for his signing class. Salyer, who will be a junior this fall, ranks as the nation’s No. 1 offensive guard and No. 13 overall recruit by 247sports for 2018.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Thomas ranks as the nation’s No. 14 offensive tackle this year. Salyer, already at 6-foot-4 and 327 pounds, dominated the Nike Atlanta regional last month.

Thomas has already said UGA will get an official visit this fall and has been named to the U.S. Army All-American game in Texas. He confirmed the Pace duo will be at G-Day on Tuesday afternoon.

Those two push the guest list that DawgNation has confirmed for G-Day up to 26. Those two young men easily become two of the most important recruits on hand at G-Day.
