5-star WR signee George Pickens arrives at UGA
Saturday was a good day for UGA football recruiting.
George Pickens, the 5-star receiver who seemingly out of nowhere flipped from Auburn to UGA, arrived in Athens, Ga. He was the signee that many UGA were worried about. 247sports’ Kipp Adams reported that Pickens is now officially enrolled in summer school with the Bulldogs.
Pickens was a pretty big deal because he’s one of the few freshmen who could compete immediately for significant playing time.
UGA’s other signees have been showing up on campus over the last few days, and the entire recruiting class is expected to be there this week.
Also on Saturday, Warren Brinson, a 4-star defensive tackle from Florida’s IMG Academy, pledged again to UGA after backing off a commitment earlier to the Bulldogs, per DawgNation’s Chip Towers.
One final note: Carson Beck, UGA’s quarterback of the future, tweeted out that he will be back in Athens, Ga., a couple of days this week. Beck, who is the quarterback for UGA’s 2020 class, will be trying to recruit other top offensive players to join him in Athens.
I’ll be back in Athens this upcoming Tuesday and Wednesday 💯🤙🏻 #GoDawgs
