Murray was drafted by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. After setting numerous Georgia and SEC passing records, Murray fell in the draft due to his height and concerns about his knee injury. In his final home game as a senior, Murray tore his ACL. The Chiefs tried to trade Murray earlier in the week, but were unable to do so.
He did not attempt a regular season pass with the Chiefs. The Cardinals starting quarterback is Carson Palmer. He is backed up by Drew Stanton and Logan Thomas.
The Cardinals open the season next Sunday night against the New England Patriots. The Bulldogs, who beat No. 22 North Carolina 33-24 on Saturday, host Nicholls State.
