ATHENS — Georgia quarterback and punter Brice Ramsey is dealing with a sprained thumb, which caused him to miss the trip to Ole Miss.

Ramsey injured the thumb in practice last week, head coach Kirby Smart said Tuesday.

“We weren’t sure he would be able to function and throw the ball, so he ended up not going to Ole Miss,” Smart said. “But he’s back now and doing a little bit better. So we think he’ll be okay.”

Ramsey, a junior, is the team’s No. 3 quarterback and backup punter. He has yet to throw a pass or punt in a game yet this season.
