Through five weeks of the college football season, there’s not much more clarity than there was when we started when it comes to the College Football Playoff.

CBS Sports analyst Jerry Palm has released his projected playoff four, and there’s a surprise: two Big 10 teams over the undefeated Georgia Bulldogs.

Granted, Georgia can’t be undefeated forever — it eventually has to play Alabama in the SEC title game if the tide take care of business. But still, it surprising to see the Bulldogs left completely out of the playoff picture.

Penn State plays Michigan at home this weekend in a battle that could decide the Big 10 east.  Then, the very next weekend, they go to Columbus in a game the Buckeyes know how to lose.

Georgia now faces Missouri at home this weekend.
