When will college athletics resume?

It will likely be later rather than sooner, due to precautions about the coronavirus pandemic.

On Sunday evening, the CDC recommended “that for the next 8 weeks, organizers cancel or postpone events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the U.S.” Sports, among other things, will likely be closed for a while.

What’s the latest with sports at UGA? Of course, the NCAA cancelled the remaining winter championships, including March Madness, last week. The NCAA also ended spring sports, but granted the athletes an extra of eligibility.

UGA athletics director Greg McGarity said on Friday that no sports practices (including football) will be taking place over the next several weeks, per 960 The Ref radio.
