Georgia legend Champ Bailey will be among the 14 people honored as SEC Legends at the SEC Championship game in December.
The 2017 class of legends was announced Tuesday, and Bailey is certainly deserving. As a junior at Georgia, he took part in more than 1,000 plays. He also won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and was a consensus All-America selection in 1998.
Bailey then moved on to the NFL and was drafted in the first round of the 1999 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. He later played for the Denver Broncos and retired in 2014. A 12-time Pro Bowl selection, Bailey represented Georgia well.
As a wide receiver, Bailey caught 59 passes for the Bulldogs, accumulating 978 yards and 5 touchdowns. On defense, he totaled 8 interceptions over three seasons.
