DawgNation has four staffers who cover the UGA football team from every angle: Beat, live streams, photos, podcasts, recruiting, etc. The Cover 4 aim is simple: 1) Present a topic; 2) Offer a reasoned response; 3) Share a brisk statement to support the informed opinion.

Do the Bulldogs have enough game breakers? The exclamation point guys? What about the players that grab your eyes when you watch the team play each week?

The Cover 4 guys think they do. That topic actually drew four different responses from the DawgNation staff.

Today’s question: Who is the most exciting player right now for UGA football?

There were four offensive guys chosen for this topic. But it might not be the four most might think.

These takes are designed to come out even faster than Mecole Hardman Jr. has scored seven touchdowns across his last six games for the Bulldogs.

Who’s the most exciting Bulldog to watch?

Brandon Adams: Jeremiah “J.J.” Holloman

JJ Holloman has big-play ability (see that Mizzou TD) and seems like the most suitable Javon Wims replacement for that back-shoulder Fromm throw on this year’s roster. That’s why one Cover 4 panelist highlights him. (Jeff Sentell/DawgNation)/Dawgnation)

The why from Adams: He’s showing that he knows how to go get the ball and he’s a player that – despite not being a top 10 recruit – has developed over his two seasons at UGA. He’s the kind of receiver that should make other receivers want to play for the Bulldogs.

Chip Towers: Mecole Hardman, Jr.

Mecole Hardman is electric. The Towers Take is dead-on with that in today’s Cover 4. (Jeff Sentell/DawgNation)/Dawgnation)

The why from Towers Take: He’s faster than anybody on the team and is going to touch the ball more than James Cook and Demetris Robertson.

Mike Griffith: James Cook

James Cook is showing what he can do every time he touches the football. (Jeff Sentell/DawgNation)/Dawgnation)

The why from On The Beat: His vision, acceleration and footwork make him a home run threat.

Jeff Sentell: Andrew Thomas

Andrew Thomas continues to grade out very very high for his play each week at left tackle. (Jeff Sentell/DawgNation)/Dawgnation)

Why: I do catch my eye watching what he does with just about every play. Like Roquan Smith last year. That’s pretty rare for a tackle in my time, but he often blocks his man out of the frame.
