Clemson coach Dabo Swinney apparently had has enough of listening to the endless criticism about his team’s weak schedule this season.

After the No. 3-ranked Tigers whipped South Carolina 38-3 on Saturday, Swinney was asked about the importance of the rival win.

Swinney was fully prepared for the question, and he made everyone aware that Clemson just whipped the same team (South Carolina) that upset No. 4 UGA earlier this season.

“It’s huge from a national standpoint, because obviously if we lose this game, I mean they are going to kick us out,” Swinney told reporters. “They don’ want us in there (the playoffs) anyways. We would drop to No. 20, you know.

Then Swinney went after the Bulldogs:

“Georgia loses to this very same team and the very next day it’s ‘How do we keep Georgia in it?’ We win to the team that beat South Carolina and it’s ‘How do we get Clemson out?’

“It’s the dadgumest thing. It’s big (we won today) because they can’t vote us out. We got to go 30-0. I mean, we ain’t got no choice because ‘we don’t play nobody.’”

For the record, UGA did suffer an epic upset at home to South Carolina, but the Bulldogs have also defeated three teams currently rated in the top 16 of the latest College Football Playoff rankings. Meanwhile, Clemson hasn’t even played a team ranked in the CFP’s top 25.

Next week, UGA plays No. 2 LSU in the SEC Championship, while Clemson squares off with unranked Virginia for the ACC title.

If UGA upsets LSU, there’s a good chance that Clemson and the Bulldogs could play in the opening round.

Swinney also said last spring he thinks Clemson should play Georgia every year.
