Georgia football podcast: Kirby Smart speaks out on recruiting priority

Beginning of the show: Georgia is in need of more defensive linemen, according to UGA coach Kirby Smart. I’ll talk more about why it’s apparently going to be a major priority for the Bulldogs’ 2019 recruiting class.

10-minute mark: UGA tight end Isaac Nauta thinks his team will still feature an impressive crop of running backs this season despite the loss of Nick Chubb and Sony Michel. There’s also seemingly growing optimism about incoming freshman Zamir White having a role in this unit. I’ll share what’s been said on that subject.
15-minute mark: DawgNation recruiting insider Jeff Sentell joins the show. Some of the topics covered include:
  • Defensive tackle being UGA’s No. 1 priority for 2019
  • Thoughts on 4-star defensive tackle CJ Clark
  • Are Jaelin Humphries and Travon Walker planning G-Day visits?
  • The latest on 4-star offensive lineman Harry Miller and his Stanford visit
  • How UGA is building a national recruiting brand

30-minute mark: I take a look at some other SEC headlines, including four SEC spring games on tap for this weekend, graduate-transfer defensive back Terrence Alexander choosing LSU, Lee Corso cautioning SEC fans to not overlook Auburn, UGA challenging fans to fill Sanford Stadium for G-Day, and Smart saying that G-Day is not unlike other scrimmages.

End of show: I update the Gator Hater Countdown.
