Georgia football podcast: The silver lining to Chauncey Manac’s transfer

Beginning of the show: Georgia redshirt freshman outside linebacker/defensive end Chauncey Manac has decided to transfer. This is disappointing news for fans who were anticipating seeing Manac on the field for the Bulldogs this season. However, the news does come with a silver lining. UGA’s depth at outside linebacker is apparently a strength. I’ll discuss that subject on today’s show.

15-minute mark: SEC Country’s Mike Johnson joins the show. Some of the topics we talk about include:

  • Mike’s thoughts on Manac’s transfer
  • UGA’s need to produce a convincing win vs. Appalachian State
  • The ongoing competition at offensive line
  • And thoughts on the Saturday Alabama vs. Florida State game

30-minute mark: I discuss some other SEC headlines, including an interesting statement from former Florida and South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier regarding Alabama’s game against Florida State, a surprising prediction from one analyst about Auburn, the chances Florida players truly don’t know who’s starting at quarterback vs. Michigan, and whether LSU’s decision to hire Ed Orgeron was risky.

35-minute mark: I preview this Saturday’s DawgNation Tailgate and explain how DawgNation Daily listeners could win $150 gift cards, courtesy of the Kroger Click List.

End of show: I update the Gator Hater Countdown.
