Georgia football podcast: National analyst calls Jake Fromm talk “ridiculous”
Beginning of the show:
“The talk of Georgia turning to freshman QB Jake Fromm is, frankly, ridiculous,” according to SB Nation’s Ian Boyd in a recent post. While it’s probably true returning starter Jacob Eason is still the best quarterback for UGA, I’ll explain on today’s show why Fromm brings more to the table than this analyst gives him credit for and why Bulldogs fans are more than capable of making up their own mind about UGA’s quarterback situation.
10 minute mark: I announce the winner of Kroger’s DawgNation Invasion giveaway to South Bend, Ind. for the big game this September.
15 minute mark: DawgNation’s Jeff Sentell joins the show. Some of the topics covered include…
- Donovan Georges’ decision to decommit from Georgia’s 2018 class
- 5-star defensive back Tyreke Johnson’s visit to UGA this past weekend
- The chances UGA could still be in the mix for 5-star quarterback Justin Fields
- IMG Academy Daniel Fallele’s performance in his spring game
30 minute mark: I take a look at some of the other headlines from around the SEC including 4-star defensive back Christian Tutt postponing his commitment announcement, disappointing news regarding the health of two former SEC coaches, an interesting statement regarding Auburn’s ability to compete with Alabama this season, a bold statement about the pressure LSU coach Ed Orgeron’s facing in his first year, and the possibility that former UGA defensive back Shaq Wiggins could end up at a different SEC school after initially commiting to Tennessee.
End of show: I talk about UGA’s baseball team beginning the SEC tournament vs. Mississippi State on Tuesday.
