Georgia football podcast: Lane Kiffin takes unnecessary jab at Jake Fromm

Beginning of the show: FAU coach Lane Kiffin went on the Dan Patrick Show Tuesday to talk about Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s performance for Alabama in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. In the midst of his commentary on the Crimson Tide’s freshman quarterback, Kiffin also said something about Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm that some UGA fans won’t like. I’ll play audio of Kiffin’s comments and explain why they’re wrong on the show.

10-minute mark: UGA is set to gear up for the final push for its 2018 recruiting class. I’ll talk about the names that could be added before National Signing Day in February.

15-minute mark: SEC Country’s Mike Johnson joins the show. Some of the topics covered include:

  • How well-positioned UGA is for a return to the CFP in 2018
  • The missing pieces for the Bulldogs in pursuit of that goal
  • The challenge for UGA to find new leaders to replace departed stars such as Nick Chubb and Sony Michel
  • The legacy left behind by UGA’s seniors
  • And an examination of whether Alabama coach Nick Saban would ever consider returning to the NFL

30-minute mark: I’ll talk about some other SEC headlines, including more on NFL rumors involving Saban, how much of a negative impact bad officiating had on UGA in the national title game and some newcomers from the SEC who could finish in the top 25 next season.

45-minute mark: Jacob Eason reportedly is considering transferring to Washington. I’ll share audio of what Eason said about a potential departure when I spoke to him before the Rose Bowl.

End of show: I update the Gator Hater Countdown.
