Georgia football podcast: 2 reasons Jake Fromm will be tough to beat for QB job

Beginning of the show: Jake Fromm is going to be tough to beat out for the quarterback job at Georgia in 2018, according to DawgNation’s Jeff Sentell. I’ll talk more on the show about what Fromm could have in store for his sophomore season, and how incoming freshman Justin Fields fits into the discussion.

10-minute mark: Former Georgia running back Nick Chubb joins the show to preview the DawgNation Appreciation event set for Thursday. Chubb also reflects on his four years at UGA and shares his thoughts on the upcoming NFL draft.

25-minute mark: I take a look at some other SEC headlines, including 5-star linebacker Owen Pappoe planning on making two more trips to Auburn before making his decision, Florida coach Dan Mullen saying that he plans to spend more time with the quarterbacks this spring, Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald voicing his displeasure with Peter Burns and national college basketball analyst Ken Pomeroy saying that Tennessee is the SEC team with the best chance to get to the Final Four.

30-minute mark: SEC Country’s Mike Johnson joins the show. Some of the topics covered include:

  • Can coaches such as Avery Johnson at Alabama ignite basketball passion in the SEC?
  • Nick Chubb’s NFL future
  • Did going through NFL draft preparations with other Alabama players help Mike get ready?
  • What would Mike think about his quarterback going through drills during spring break?

End of show: I update the Gator Hater Countdown and invite the audience to check out the DawgNation Daily Double.
