Georgia football is the No. 1 topic every day on DawgNation Daily — the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans. Catch up on everything happening with UGA athletics with host Brandon Adams and the DawgNation experts as they break down the latest Georgia football recruiting news and discuss coach Kirby Smart’s quest to return the Bulldogs to the top of the SEC. On episode No. 1,004 (Aug. 9, 2019) of the podcast, Georgia fans can hear a discussion about why the strength and weight gains for a few UGA players could foreshadow success for the Bulldogs this fall.

Georgia football podcast: UGA ready to show bigger truly is better

Beginning of the show: Georgia coach Kirby Smart declared last week that many of his players had improved their strength and size over the summer. Two of the players for which that statement could be made spoke with reporters Thursday. Safety Richard LeCounte and linebacker Azeez Ojulari explained how their new muscle mass makes them better players. I’ll share that audio on today’s show, and explain the stats that support the notion that bigger players perform better.

10-minute mark: I discuss an interesting audio clip from ESPN’s Kirk Herbsreit — who made an appearance on Clay Travis’ Wins & Losses podcast, and shared an interesting tidbit his father told him when he first enrolled at Ohio State that is also relevant for UGA recruiting observers.

15-minute mark: DawgNation’s recruiting insider Jeff Sentell joins the show. Some of the topics covered include…

  • The latest on 5-star defensive back Elias Ricks
  • An update on 4-star running back Tank Bigsby — who’ll make his college choice Friday night.
  • And 5-star linebacker Mekhail Sherman’s recruiting priorities for UGA

30-minute mark: I take a look at other SEC headlines including Missouri quarterback Kelly Bryant not getting a national championship ring from Clemson, and a former Tennessee offensive lineman offers an explanation for why he left the program.

35-minute mark: Mr. College Football Tony Barnhart joins the show to discuss expectations facing UGA this season and the outlook for the rest of the SEC.

End of show: I share the Gator Hater Updater.
