Georgia football podcast: Some Alabama fans apparently weren’t too happy with UGA recruiting graphic

Beginning of the show: New Georgia coach Scott Cochran shared a graphic promoting himself to recruits that included a number of players Cochran developed while strength and conditioning coordinator at Alabama. Some Crimson Tide fans weren’t too happy about the image. I’ll discuss the fallout from the incident on today’s show and explain why the players used for the photo aren’t likely to be bothered by it.

10-minute mark: I address the Kansas City Chiefs’ decision to draft former LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire instead of UGA’s D’Andre Swift, and explain why the new Todd Monken offense could provide a boost for Bulldogs running backs that’s similar to what Edwards-Helaire enjoyed at LSU.

15-minute mark: DawgNation’s Connor Riley joins the show. Some of the topics covered include…

  • Former UGA left tackle Andrew Thomas being selected with the No. 4 pick by the New York Giants
  • Former Bulldogs right tackle Isaiah Wilson going 29th overall to the Tennessee Titans
  • Swift slipping out of the first round
  • A projection for former UGA quarterback Jake Fromm and other Bulldogs draft hopefuls

35-minute mark: I discuss the eye-popping number of SEC players drafted during the first round and congratulate the recruiting industry for mostly projecting their careers correctly.

End of show: I share the Gator Hater Updater.
