Grimes possibly impacts UGA’s attempt to sign five-star offensive tackle Broderick Jones.

Georgia football podcast: New development that could help UGA secure 5-star OT Broderick Jones

Beginning of the show: Five-star offensive tackle Broderick Jones is a Georgia commit, but didn’t sign with the Bulldogs in December. The final stage of his recruitment will be closely watched between now and National Signing Day in February. One of the challengers to UGA for Jones is Auburn. However, it was announced this week that Tigers’ offensive line coach J.B. Grimes won’t return in 2020. I’ll discuss on today’s show how that development impacts UGA’s chances of securing Jones’ signature.

NOTE: This show was recorded prior to Jake Fromm’s announcement that he is entering the NFL draft, and before the reports that Cade Mays was transferring to Tennessee.

10-minute mark: I discuss reports that UGA let five-star running back Zach Evans out of his letter of intent.

15-minute mark: DawgNation’s Mike Griffith joins the show. Some of the topics covered include…

  • Mike’s thoughts on Fromm
  • How the offensive line competition will go without Solomon Kindley
  • And UGA’s basketball loss to Kentucky

30-minute mark: I take a look at other SEC headlines including Florida signee Gervon Dexter hinting at attempt to push Evans toward the Gators, Gators defensive back Marco Wilson’s announcement that he’s returning, a look at whether Dan Mullen was a legitimate candidate for the Dallas Cowboys job and the latest Mississippi State coaching rumors.

35-minute mark: I share audio of UGA basketball coach Tom Crean discussing the loss to the Wildcats.

End of show: I share the Gator Hater Updater.
