Brandon Adams

Georgia football is the No. 1 topic every day on DawgNation Daily — the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans. Catch up on everything happening with UGA athletics with host Brandon Adams and the DawgNation experts as they break down the latest Georgia football recruiting news and discuss coach Kirby Smart’s quest to return the Bulldogs to the top of the SEC. On episode No. 1,215 (June 12, 2020) of the podcast, Georgia fans can hear a discussion about why the ongoing debate regarding whether UGA’s Kirby Smart or Florida’s Dan Mullen is the better coach will soon have a decisive answer.

Georgia football podcast: The Kirby Smart-Dan Mullen debate will have a decisive winner soon

Beginning of the show: One of the hottest topics for debate during the offseason has been whether Georgia or Florida will win the SEC East. This discussion almost always spins into a comparison regarding UGA coach Kirby Smart and his counterpart at Florida, Dan Mullen.

The common thinking is Smart is obviously the better recruiter and thus far built a program at UGA that’s been better than the Gators. However, many seem to assume that Mullen will eventually change that because he is — as some would say — a better coach, specifically when it comes his ability to get more out of lesser talent.

I’ll explain on today’s show why that argument might not survive the 2020 season.

10-minute mark: I discuss what’s next for UGA’s 2021 class at wide receiver after four-star prospect Romello Brinson chose Miami over the weekend.

15-minute mark: DawgNation analyst — and former UGA All-American — Jon Stinchcomb joins the show. Some of the topics covered include…

  • Thoughts on Smart and Mullen
  • A preview of UGA’s trip to Alabama in September
  • Reaction to a recent ESPN writer’s take on UGA’s so-called “embarrassing” national title drought
  • And a discussion about how a new law in Florida allowing for players to profit off their name, image and likeness could eventually impact UGA

35-minute mark: I take a look at other SEC headlines including the apparent drama surrounding Tennessee’s top commit.

40-minute mark: I discuss a funny tweet from a DawgNation Daily listener regarding a viral moment a year ago for UGA wide receiver signee Jermaine Burton.

End of show: I share the Gator Hater Updater.
