Georgia football is the No. 1 topic every day on DawgNation Daily — the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans. Catch up on everything happening with UGA athletics with host Brandon Adams and the DawgNation experts as they break down the latest Georgia football recruiting news and discuss coach Kirby Smart’s quest to return the Bulldogs to the top of the SEC. On episode No. 1,267 (Aug. 26, 2020) of the podcast, Georgia fans can hear a discussion about what LSU coach Ed Orgeron said this week in response to a question about top recruits voluntarily organizing meetups for themselves – such as the gathering of elite prospects in Athens, Ga. this past weekend.

Georgia football podcast: UGA’s big recruiting weekend really seemed to bother Ed Orgeron

Beginning of the show: Some of Georgia’s top 2021 recruiting targets organized a meetup for themselves in Athens, Ga. this past weekend. The current NCAA-mandated recruiting dead period didn’t stop them from exploring their curiosity about UGA — even if they couldn’t participate in the activities that typically accompany a university visit.

The gathering of UGA targets — and a similar meeting of Oklahoma commits and prospects — apparently got the attention of reporters, and LSU coach Ed Orergon was asked about the events this week. Orgeron’s comments made it seem he wasn’t happy about what had taken place. I’ll share audio of what he had to say on today’s show.

10-minute mark: I discuss SEC Network analyst Gene Chizik’s praise of Florida and explain why new UGA offensive coordinator Todd Monken’s new scheme could eventually make predictions like Chizik’s look foolish.

15-minute mark: DawgNation’s Mike Griffith joins the show. Some of the topics covered include…

  • A recap of Monken’s first press conference with the Bulldogs
  • A look at the ongoing quarterback competition
  • And more

30-minute mark: I take a look at other SEC headlines including what Arkansas coach Sam Pittman recently said about his ongoing quarterback battle and an update on four-star safety Terrion Arnold.

35-minute mark: I share an example of Florida coach Dan Mullen seemingly copying one  of UGA coach Kirby Smart’s most recognized phrases.

End of show: I share the Gator Hater Updater.
