Podcast: One thing fans don’t want to hear about UGA’s offensive line

Brandon Adams

Georgia football spring practice began on Tuesday and Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart met with the media to discuss his outlook on the 2017 season. One of the first topics covered in that press conference is the competition for playing time available on the offensive line.

Smart indicated that opportunities are plentiful and lots of combinations will be tried. This is probably a necessary step for UGA given the struggles of this unit last season. However, what might give some fans reason for concern is the suggestion that the ongoing tinkering and evaluation of Georgia’s offensive line could stretch into the season.

I’ll talk about that today on DawgNation Daily — the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans.

I’ll also share some potential good news regarding UGA’s 2018 recruiting class — including why 4-star safety Trey Dean’s relationship with Georgia could get the Bulldogs back into the mix for 4-star linebacker Quay Walker.

Also Mitch Light — the managing editor of Athlon Sports — joins the show and we discuss…

  • Whether UGA is the prohibitive SEC East favorite this year
  • What to expect from Georgia’s chief division rivals — Florida and Tennessee
  • The chances that Auburn — and not Alabama — wins the SEC West
  • And Mitch shares some insight into Vanderbilt — one of the teams that beat the Bulldogs last season
