For a dozen years now, former Georgia players David Greene, Matt Stinchcomb and Jon Stinchcomb have held a preseason fundraiser for children’s charities. The venue is changing this year, and the main prize is going way up.

The highest bidder will win what the trio is calling the “ultimate bucket list trip,” focused on Georgia’s game at Notre Dame on Sept. 9. The prize package includes:

  • Four round-trip airline tickets to Chicago, plus two hotel rooms.
  • Four tickets and sideline passes for the Notre Dame-Georgia game, as well as a facilities tour.
  • Four tickets and pregame field passes for the Chicago Cubs-Milwaukee Brewers game at Wrigley Field on Sept. 8
  • And four tickets to the Atlanta Falcons-Chicago Bears game at Soldier Field on Sept. 10

The auction culminates Friday night at the UGA Kickoff event, held at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. And if you can’t be there but want to bid, you can do so online. As of Friday morning, the high bid was $14,000.

All proceeds go to the Second Chance Program at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and the Georgia Transplant Foundation, also for children.

Greene and the Stinchcomb brothers previously held their event, then called Countdown to Kickoff, at Sanford Stadium in early August, and usually involved current Bulldogs and other former Bulldogs. But the event was moved because Sanford Stadium hasn’t been available the last two years.
