Georgia fans were hoping to catch a glimpse of Jake Fromm on Saturday. But not like this.

The highly-touted freshman signal caller was thrust into action in the first half of a 31-10 win against Appalachian State after starting QB Jacob Eason went down with an injury.

Kirby Smart updated that situation during halftime, but there’s still much to be determined on the status of Eason moving into a Week 2 matchup against Notre Dame.

In the moments following the victory, Georgia fans shared their thoughts on Fromm and the Georgia offense via the DawgNation Facebook page.

A look at some of their reactions:

Chad Wood: “Jake Fromm should start every game this year. Eason looked very out of sync. Wasn’t pleased with his performance. Hope he gets well soon though.”

Fredrick Robitzsch: “Kid is very good. But to toss eason out of the mix already when he had hardly any snaps before getting hurt is a quick judgement.”

Taylor Jones: “Fromm did a great job tonight, hope Eason is okay. He does have the better arm, hopefully it was just first game jitters. However a win is a win. GO dawgs!”

Bryan Bain: “Wishing Eason a speedy recovery .. Jake Fromn looked very comfortable in the pocket…, Ramsey needs to stay on the sidelines I know that”

David L. Wells: “Stick with fromm as long as he continues to produce practice like crazy between now and next week learn more of the offence he can do big things”

Gary Wells:  “IT’S FROMM TIME AT GEORGIA. Sorry Eason supporters, but he is the backup now. Eason 1 for 3 for 4 yards with 2 easy overthrown incompletes and 0 first downs against a FBS Team.”

Ruth Albright Reaves: “He did great, needed to keep him in the whole game, very impressed with this young man, Go Dawgs!!”

Rick Screws: “He played great under pressure in the scrimmage but looked good being thrown into the battle early. I don’t know what to do with Ramsey. He’s shown no improvement at all. Hope Eason is just bruised”

Shon Wilson: “I thought they played ok. ND has a running QB so unless the D corrects some things, next week will be a tough challenge. Fromm looked more comfortable than Eason. O line has to improve. Starting D looks good. Special teams looked better except for return game”

Ronald Hintz: “Id bring fromm out for nd. Coach can always pull him. He just seemed really comfortable under center. He may be the future for the Dawgs!”

Mike Riley: “I was impressed by the line play on both sides of the ball. Still, it was a sun belt team…lot of work to do. Get well soon Eason, great game Fromm.”
