Herschel Walker is no stranger to the spotlight. Perhaps that is why he feels drawn to a man who seems to crave the spotlight, Donald Trump.

The legendary UGA running back told Josh Peter of USA TODAY Sports on Saturday that he believes Trump is his “frontrunner.”

In the interview, which can be found here, Walker said he admires Trump’s ability to follow through and get things done.

Much of that admiration stems from Walker’s playing days when he starred in the former USFL for the New Jersey Generals, a team that Trump owned for two winning seasons.

“He was a guy that always did what he said he was going to do,” Walker said in the interview. “When are we going get back to what’s best for this country? I think that’s what’s Donald is pushing to do.’’

Not many are looking in Walker’s direction when in need of political beliefs, but the running back offered his own opinions on Trump’s stances — such as that he supports Trump’s idea of building a massive wall to block the U.S. and Mexico border.

Who knows, maybe Trump will enlist Walker’s services again if the wall ever needs to be built.
