ATHENS — Here are quotes from Vanderbilt’s 17-16 victory over Georgia on Saturday:

Georgia coach Kirby Smart: “You’ve got to dominate in three phases and we didn’t do that today. We struggled running and they did a good job of making us one-dimensional.”

Georgia kicker Rodrigo Blankenship: “The program expects excellence from every position and it’s my job to try to put them through the pipes.”

Georgia tight end Jeb Blazevich: “We need to continue to develop our physical identity. We need to continue to harp on the details. That’s something that coach Chaney stresses. We have the effort — it’s all there — but we to continue to push through and get a little bit more and harp on the details that make the plays work.”

Georgia receiver Isaiah McKenzie: “We felt good about the (final) play. Even thought they called the timeout and made some adjustments, we still felt good about it. A guy came from the blind side and tackled me. He made a good play.”

Vanderbilt running back Khari Blasingame: “It was tough sledding. They came out prepared and they did a good job, but at the end of the day, we got the win. They did a good job on their run defense. It was tough, but I am glad we came out with the win.”

Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason: “It’s the biggest win that I’ve had probably in my career because I’m the head coach. This is a win that I think could help move this program forward. … You saw a football team committed to doing one thing, and that’s going on the road and getting a win.”

Vanderbilt quarterback Kyle Shurmur: “It wasn’t pretty, but that just isn’t our style, I guess. It was just great to get a win for all the guys in the locker room, the coaches and for the whole organization.”
