Georgia swimmer Gunnar Bentz and U.S. swimming teammate Jack Conger were finally allowed to leave Brazil on Thursday after being detained Wednesday and questioned by police, according to a report by Yahoo Sports veteran writer Pat Forde.

Brazilian authorities wanted to interview the U.S. Olympic swim team members about a report they made Sunday along with fellow teammates Ryan Lochte and Jimmy Feigen, claiming they had been robbed at gunpoint after leaving the swimming.

The police in Rio have since revealed they believe Lochte fabricated his story about being robbed after the four swimmers allegedly vandalized the bathroom at a Rio gas station. It was there police say that the swimmers had a gun pointed at them by a security guard.
