ATHENS — Two of Georgia’s most successful coaches, Jack Bauerle and Petros Kyprianou, have received substantial pay increases.

Bauerle, the longtime UGA swimming coach, is now earning $380,000 annually, a raise from $250,000, according to a document provided by UGA.  The women’s swimming team has won seven national championships under Bauerle, most recently in 2016.

Kyprianou, who guided Georgia’s women’s track team to a second-place finish in the NCAA Championships in 2017, received a raise to $280,000, up from $160,000, according to the same document. Kyprianou is entering his fourth season at Georgia.

Athletics director Greg McGarity also saw his pay increase by $25,000, up to $625,000, according to the terms of the contract extension he signed in 2015. McGarity also will see his salary increase to $650,000 on July 1, 2018, as he enters the final year of his contract.

McGarity was is scheduled to receive his annual retention bonus of $50,000, payable next year. His contract runs through June 2019.
