Twitter reacts to Georgia football flipping 4-star QB Dwan Mathis from Ohio State

National Signing Day always has its surprises. One of the biggest surprises early in the day this year was great news for Georgia football.

The Bulldogs have successfully flipped 4-star quarterback Dwan Mathis from Ohio State to Georgia. The Michigan native is the No. 9 pro-styled quarterback and a top 300 player in the 2019 recruiting class based on the 247Sports composite rankings.

With this surprise commitment, Georgia may have found its new backup quarterback. Freshman signal caller Justin Fields, who was a 5-star and the No. 2 player in the 2018 class, entered the transfer portal this week after not receiving playing time during the 2018 season.

Fields transferring has not been confirmed, but one of his possible destinations is Ohio State. Reportedly, Mathis flipped away from Ohio State because he wasn’t going to be an early enrollee, but Fields heading to the Buckeyes would be another reason Mathis wouldn’t want to be in Columbus.

Twitter had plenty of reactions to Mathis flipping away from Ohio State and committing to Georgia. Here’s a collection of the best reactions:
