Devon Gales’ life became forever linked to the University of Georgia on Sept. 26, 2015. It was that day which Gales suffered spinal cord injury which confined him to a wheelchair while playing for Southern University.

Now ESPN is honoring Gales with a feature on him from expert tear-jerker Tom Rinaldi. Gales’ story is a true testiment to the human spirit and sportsmanship. The Triumph over Tragedy Foundation gave him and his family a fully handicap accessible house.

That day, Gales’ said he now has some lower extremity movement and hopes to walk someday. Georgia helped raise funds for the house by allowing them to use the ‘Power G’ for the first letter in Gales’ last name on items of clothing.

This piece will surely be a moving tribute.
