ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt commended Georgia fans this week for their campaign to wear pink in support of Arkansas coach Blake Anderson and his wife, Wendy, who died in August after a two-year battle with cancer.

The College GameDay panel echoed Van Pelt’s sentiment during the ESPN pregame, praising Georgia fans for wearing pink on Saturday morning.

“We’ve had some moments here in the early part of the season that show while the fans are passionate about the sport, they are emphatic to the people involved,” said Rece Davis.

Kirk Herbstreit added: “The human spirit. That’s really what it’s all about, and college football brings that out.”

Based on the early shot from Sanford Stadium during College GameDay, it looks like there will be a lot of Georgia fans wearing pink at the game Saturday.

Wendy died of breast cancer on Aug. 19. Anderson told ESPN that he has “been overwhelmed” by the support from Georgia fans this week.
