ESPN’s Lee Corso dons tiger head, picks LSU to win SEC Championship
For the second straight year, not many analysts are giving Georgia much of a chance to win the SEC Championship Game. The ESPN College GameDay panel didn’t do anything to change that narrative.
All of the ESPN analysts on College GameDay, including Lee Corso, who donned the head gear of the LSU mascot, picked LSU to beat Georgia on Saturday.
“I have two options. One is a handsome LSU tiger, and two — an ugly Georgia bulldog. Give me that Georgia … no, give me that tiger,” Corso said as he put on the LSU mascot head.
Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, David Pollack and Pat Mcafee joined Corso in picking LSU to defeat Georgia on Saturday. The only picker on College GameDay to choose Georgia over LSU was guest picker Zac Brown, who is a Bulldogs fan.
Chris Fallica, the betting insider on College GameDay, selected Georgia to cover the seven-point spread but didn’t choose the Bulldogs to win the game outright.
“I think LSU has too much firepower, and they can score too many points,” Pollack said. “I don’t think Georgia can hang with them in the passing game. I think LSU gets it done.”
“George Pickens is missing the first half. (Lawrence) Cager is missing the whole game. (D’Andre) Swift is banged up. I don’t know if they’re going to have enough offense to go out there and really compete with LSU, so I’ve got to pick the Tigers in a close one,” Howard said.
Georgia and LSU will square off in the SEC Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta at 4 pm ET on Saturday. While SEC bragging right are on the line, the Bulldogs also need to win in order to secure a spot in the College Football Playoff.
