As expected, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum somehow figured out a way to get a rise out of Georgia fans after the Bulldogs’ big win over Florida.

Finebaum was asked this question on Sunday’s ESPN SportsCenter: If UGA reaches the SEC Championship game, would the Bulldogs rather play Alabama or LSU?

“Georgia doesn’t want Alabama,” Finebaum said. “They’ve been down that road, and they’ve had the same result. And that’s the problem.

“I’ve talked to Kirby Smart about this, and he said, ‘Oh, Nick Saban. No big deal.’ It is a big deal. It’s student verses pupil. He definitely wants a shot at Ed Orgeron, who’s a good coach, but he’s not Nick Saban.”

There’s a lot of ways to look at this, I guess. However, it seems like many UGA fans would prefer playing Alabama rather the LSU. To be the best, you’ve got to beat the best, right? Beating Alabama and crushing that roadblock could change the perception of the Bulldogs in the minds of many across the nation.

Then again, some fans may just want to make it to the SEC title game, regardless of who the Bulldogs may play.

Ultimately, it’s just a fun topic to discuss. Obviously, UGA won’t have any influence over who they play.
