Faton Bauta is getting a second chance at being a starting quarterback.
The former Georgia quarterback was named the starter at Colorado State by head coach Mike Bobo. Bauta and Bobo have worked together before, as Bobo was the longtime offensive coordinator at Georgia.

Bauta transferred from Georgia shortly after Mark Richt was fired as Georgia’s head coach. He landed with the Rams and beat Nick Stevens for the starting job. Colorado State lost its first game of the season 44-7 against Colorado. Bauta relieved Stevens, and the Georgia graduate transfer completed 6 of his 9 passes for 32 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 39 yards.
Bauta started one game in his time at Georgia. He threw four interceptions in a 27-3 loss to Florida in 2015. Bauta and the Rams take on UTSA on Saturday.
