Former Georgia great Malcolm Mitchell spent his bye week reading to children

Former Georgia WR Malcolm Mitchell

It’s good to see that playing in the NFL hasn’t changed Malcolm Mitchell much.

The former Georgia wide receiver spent his bye week reading to children and handing out copies of his children’s book “The Magician’s Hat. In all, Mitchell donated 3,700 books to the Savannah-Chatham County Public School system in south Georgia.

Mitchell grew up in Valdosta, Ga., which is just west of Savannah. Mitchell was drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. In his rookie season, Mitchell has six receptions for 82 yards for the 7-1 Patriots.

Georgia has struggled to replace Mitchell’s production since he graduated last year. Mitchell led Georgia in receptions and receiving yards last year with 58 receptions and 865 receiving yards.

Georgia takes on No. 8 Auburn this Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET.
