Baby watch in Cincinnati.
Former Georgia receiver A.J. Green was allowed to take practice off on Wednesday. Green and his wife are expecting the birth of their first child.
Cincinnati fans are both happy and breathing a sigh of relief.
Green had said in late August he’d miss a regular season game if his wife gave birth on game day.
“I can’t play,” he said, per Cincinnati.com. “First one, definitely. I want to be there.”
The Bengals host the Denver Broncos in Week 3 and have a short week to prepare for their Thursday night matchup against the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 29.
Green has 14 catches for 218 yards and one touchdown in two games for Cincinnati.
The former Georgia great played for the Bulldogs from 2008-10 where he caught 166 passes for 2,619 yards and 23 touchdowns. He was drafted by the Bengals with the No. 4 pick of the 2011 NFL Draft.
