Former Georgia WR Isaiah McKenzie is emotional while being carted off field vs. Giants
The winless New York Giants surprisingly beat the Denver Broncos Sunday night. The Broncos also lost promising rookie wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, a Georgia alum, for an undetermined amount of time in the process.
McKenzie was carted off the field in the Broncos’ 23-10 loss to the Giants. The injury came early in the fourth quarter when McKenzie landed awkwardly on his right ankle while jumping for a pass.

While the setback originally looked to be serious, Broncos coach Vance Joseph revealed that McKenzie’s prognosis might not be too bad, although the team is waiting to know more.
“The initial X-rays were both negative, so we’re lucky there,” Broncos coach Vance Joseph said. “We’ll know more [Monday].”
McKenzie, the team’s fifth-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, is Denver’s primary punt returner and gets looks in certain offensive formations. He’s recorded 14 punts for 139 yards (9.9 yards per return).
His injury came on a night when just about every key player on the Broncos’ offense got dinged up, including QB Trevor Siemian and receivers Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.
The Giants entered the game 0-5, joining the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers as the only winless teams entering play Sunday. Both the Browns and 49ers lost.
