The girlfriend of former UGA receiver Israel Troupe was killed on Tuesday when her vehicle was hit by a log truck, according to the Moultrie Observer.
Carrie McCollough, 37, was driving westbound on Highway 122 in Brooks County and failed to yield at the intersection of Highway 333, according to Georgia State Patrol.
Unconfirmed reports also say that McCollough was carrying Troupe’s child and that the unborn child also died in the accident.
A screenshot of a Facebook post from former UGA safety Bryan Evans that circulated on Twitter also mentioned the loss of Troupe’s child. “Prayers for Georgia Dawg Israel Troupe and his family.”
Troupe was recently hired as a baseball and football coach at Colquitt High School, according to the Moultrie Observer. He finished his UGA career in 2011. In 39 career games, Troupe had 12 receptions for 177 yards and one touchdown.
