Georgia basketball player may be solution to football team’s kicking struggles
Georgia’s kicking situation is a mess. But the Bulldogs might have a solution on the hardwood.
Through three games this season, Georgia has missed at least one field in each game, and, in a close 28-27 win over Mizzou last weekend, kicker William Ham failed on both of his two attempts. Ham, a redshirt sophomore, has also yet to hit a field goal for over 30 yards.
But look no further than your own campus, Bulldog fans. Georgia basketball tweeted a video of forward Yante Maten connecting on a 44-yard field goal to win the Punt, Pass & Kick competition for his team. The kick is definitely impressive, and given the ‘Dawgs current struggles kicking the ball, Maten showed he might be the perfect solution.

Maten was also successful on the court last year for the Bulldogs. He was named second-team All-SEC by the league coaches, and finished second on the team in scoring (16.5 ppg), while leading Georgia in rebounds (8 rpg), blocks (1.8 bpg) and field goal percentage (.496).
Georgia (3-0) travels to Ole Miss on Saturday.
