Georgia coach Kirby Smart questions legitimacy of Jacob Eason jet ski pass
It’s been less than a week since Jacob Eason went viral with an Instagram video of him completing a pass to teammate Isaac Nauta on a jet ski, but his head coach is already casting doubt on the throw.
“I didn’t think it was real, I still don’t believe it’s real,” Kirby Smart said at a charity golf tournament Thursday. “Someone’s going to have to prove to me it’s real. He did say that it took him a couple of times and they knocked it out. I don’t know how that video cropping works so I’ve got to believe they worked that some kind of way through a trick video.”
Legitimate or not, Eason’s pass has been viewed nearly 100,000 times since its posting.
“As long as they’re safe, I’m good with it,” Smart added.
Eason completed 55 percent of his passes as a true freshman, leading Georgia to an 8-5 record. He threw 16 touchdowns and eight picks last season.
Georgia starts its season on Sept. 2 against Appalachian St.
