The Georgia Dome doesn’t have much longer before it’s demolished. The venue has created some amazing memories, one of which was so close to being an unforgettable one for the home-state Bulldogs.

On Wednesday during an “Ask Me Anything” session on Twitter, the Georgia Dome itself said goodbye from its official account.

At one point, one fan asked it to say sorry for Georgia’s 32-28 loss to Alabama in the 2012 SEC Championship Game.

Amari Cooper had a big day for the Crimson Tide, catching 8 passes for 128 yards and what turned out to be the game-winning 45-yard touchdown pass from AJ McCarron with 3:15 left.

Georgia’s potential game-winning drive was stopped short at the Alabama 5-yard line as the Tide held on for the win and eventually made short work of Notre Dame, 42-14, in the national championship game.

The Georgia Dome, longtime home of the SEC Championship Game and Atlanta Falcons, is scheduled for demolition on Monday after standing in the city for more than 25 years. The implosion is set for 7:30 a.m. ET.

The Georgia Dome is being replaced by Mercedes-Benz Stadium, a multi-purpose, retractable-roof stadium.
