Georgia fans celebrate news of Jim Chaney leaving for Tennessee
The tumultuous relationship between UGA fans and Bulldogs offensive coordinator Jim Chaney has apparently come to an end.
Chaney, Georgia’s offensive coordinator since the start of the Kirby Smart era, is headed to Tennessee, per 247sports’ Patrick Brown.
Tennessee is coached by former UGA assistant Jeremy Pruitt. Chaney had previously been Tennessee’s offensive coordinator from 2009 to 2012.
The news about Chaney got a mixed reaction from UGA fans, some who complained about his play-calling and others who raved about having the 14th best offense in the country this past season.
What are your thoughts?
Here’s some opinions from social media:
Jim Chaney was so bland as an OC that Kirby went out and hired a co-offensive coordinator to sit with him in the press box and offer ideas 😂

How Jim Chaney continues to keep a job in the SEC, or in football period, is beyond the realm of actual reality. This is an absolute horrible hire by the #Vols.

If Georgia wanted to keep Jim Chaney, they would have.

Thank God Jim Chaney leaving UGA. Best news I’ve heard all day. Kirby need to do the smart thing for once and hire somebody with a creative offensive mind that will utilize our athletes abilities!!!
