Georgia held steady at No. 7 in this week’s College Football Playoff rankings, and most believe the Bulldogs still control their own destiny.
UGA will look to finish off an 11-1 regular season on Saturday against Georgia Tech before facing either Auburn or Alabama in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 2. Theoretically, a 12-1 Georgia team would get into the playoff in any scenario.
However, no team ranked outside the top six by this point in the season has ever made the College Football Playoff.
Still, Georgia fans seem confident heading into rivalry week. Here was some of the reaction to UGA’s current status in the playoff rankings:

Imagine Georgia’s resume if South Carolina beats Clemson Saturday. They’d have 3 Top 15 wins.

I still don’t understand how a one loss Georgia dropped in the rankings so much. Auburn’s two losses have to mean something just like Clemson’s one loss.

I think if some games play out in Georgia’s favor, we have a chance to move up at least 3 spots this weekend in the CFB playoff polls.
