Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith declared for the NFL draft on Monday, and Bulldogs fans everywhere used the development to reflect on the player’s legacy in Athens.
Smith became a pivotal part of a Georgia defense that helped lead the Bulldogs this season to an SEC title, a Rose Bowl championship and an appearance in the National Championship Game. He was a consensus first-team All-American, the SEC Defensive Player of the Year (as chosen by the AP and coaches) and the Butkus Award winner. His impact was large and undeniable during Georgia’s memorable 13-2 campaign.
Multiple Georgia fans used Twitter to pass along their appreciation to Smith after his announcement. We’ve collected a sampling below.
