Georgia fans react to Lincoln Riley’s shot at the Bulldogs’ defense
It’s been an eventful offseason Tuesday on Twitter for UGA fans courtesy of Oklahoma Sooners coach Lincoln Riley.
Appearing on a morning show on ESPNU Radio on SiriusXM, Riley said that if Georgia was in the Big 12, there was “no way” the Bulldogs would still be a top-5 defense. After that ill-advised take got the Twitter fans going, Riley tried to backtrack, but that didn’t stop many people.
Returning Georgia safety Richard LeCounte III was among the first to respond in a joking tone.

Then Georgia fans really got things rolling in the replies:
Yeah and if you throw Oklahoma in the SEC there is no way they’re a Top 5 offense every year. Lol it’s that simple. By the way, who won the Rose Bowl? Can’t make these predictions off of one game.

Here’s what our own host of DawgNation Daily Brandon Adams had to say:
Lincoln Riley had the Heisman winner, a 17-point lead, and still found a way to lose the Rose Bowl. He ought to have enough sense to be ashamed. https://t.co/eDcdkqs2ha
