CBS announced its broadcast schedule window for the 2019 season, with the network’s first game being played on Sept. 14 when Alabama visits South Carolina.

The network also announced that the Georgia-Florida game will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET on Nov. 2. This has been the time slot when these two rivals have traditionally met. The Bulldogs have beaten Florida in each of the last two seasons.

Another interesting note from the CBS press release is that the network will have a doubleheader on Sept. 21, with the second game beginning at 8 p.m. ET. CBS has traditionally done this doubleheader on the same day as the LSU-Alabama game, but will not do that this year.

The reason we mention the Sept. 21 date is that Georgia hosts Notre Dame on that date. Florida also plays Tennessee on Sept. 21, and that game has been in the 3:30 p.m. CBS slot more often than not in recent seasons. It’s very easy to see the CBS putting the Florida-Tennessee game at 3:30 p.m., and then having Georgia host Notre Dame at 8 p.m. on that day.

Game times for any other Georgia games have not yet been announced.

When Georgia and Notre Dame met in 2017, the Bulldogs came away with a 20-19 victory that helped propel Georgia to the College Football Playoff.

Despite not playing in 2018 the Georgia and Notre Dame did manage to stir up some controversy. While Notre Dame was getting pummeled by Clemson in the College Football Playoff, several Georgia players tweeted that they belonged in the playoff as opposed to Notre Dame. Georgia then followed that up by losing 28-21 in the Sugar Bowl to Texas.

The game will certainly garner a ton of attention in the college football. ESPN has named the game as college football’s top non-conference game for the 2019 season. Both teams figure to rank in the top-10 when they meet, and potentially in the top-5.

Both squads return their starting quarterbacks from last season, as Jake Fromm will lead the Bulldogs, while Ian Book guides Notre Dame. The 2017 contest against Notre Dame was Fromm’s first career start, as he was filling in for Jacob Eason. Fromm completed 16 of his 29 pass attempts for 141 yards. He threw one very memorable touchdown pass to Terry Godwin but he also threw one interception to the Notre Dame defense.

The Georgia-Notre Dame game will be the fourth game of the season for the Bulldogs. Kirby Smart and company open the season on Aug. 31, when the Bulldogs take on Vanderbilt.
