The Georgia Bulldogs re-established themselves as one of the best teams in the country with a resounding 27-6 win over an Auburn team that was previously ranked in the top-10.

The Bulldogs got a good outing from Stetson Bennett IV while the Georgia defense smothered Auburn and Bo Nix for much of the night. In the Week 5 Coaches Poll Top 25, the Bulldogs moved up into a tie for third with the Gators. In the AP Poll, Georgia came in at No. 3, above Florida.

The SEC is once again well represented in both polls, as there are seven teams in the AP Poll and seven in the Coaches Poll. Both are the most of any conference in either poll.

Smart liked the strides Bennett made, while he was pleased with how physical Georgia was on the lines of scrimmage. The Bulldogs ran for 202 yards while the Tigers ran for just 39.

“I did think we played really physical tonight and I think when you play Auburn, that’s where it starts, the line of scrimmage and physicality,” Smart said. “If you can’t run the ball and somebody else can run the ball, it makes it easier to be successful. ”

Georgia will have another physical game this coming Saturday, as the Bulldogs welcome the  No. 14 Tennessee Volunteers to Sanford Stadium. This will be another ranked matchup for the Bulldogs and kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET.
