It was more of the same when Georgia played Alabama on Saturday night. The Bulldogs took a lead into halftime, only for Alabama to outplay the Bulldogs in the second half, as Alabama pulled away with a 41-24 victory.

Because of the loss, Georgia dropped in both the AP Poll and Coaches Poll this week. The Bulldogs fell to No. 4 in the Coaches Poll and No. 4 in the AP Poll.

Clemson is still No. 1 in both polls and Alabama remained at No. 2. In both polls, Notre Dame moved up to the No. 3 spot.

Two of Georgia’s prior opponents dropped out of the polls, as Tennessee andAuburn both lost on Saturday. It now gives the SEC just four ranked teams, the fewest total of the season.

As for what comes next for the Bulldogs, they’ll have the week off due to some schedule changes. Georgia was originally set to play Kentucky, but due to a COVID-19 outbreak at Florida, the two teams will now meet on Oct. 31.

Georgia defensive back Richard LeCounte spoke after the loss against the Crimson Tide and cautioned against a doom and gloom attitude.

“It’s not really a demoralizing thing, but we will go back to the drawing board where we are able to fix where we messed up tonight and finish our season out,” LeCounte said. “We’re good. It’s just a little bump in our road.

“We are here to learn from our experience and get better so they next time we’ll be good.”

The Bulldogs are now 3-1 on the season and do still control their own path to winning the SEC East. If they do that, they will likely see Alabama once again, as the Crimson Tide are the only unbeaten team remaining in the SEC.
